Local-First Data Processing

SnapCuller is a desktop application designed to process your photos locally on your computer.

  • No Photo Uploads: By default, your photos and their associated metadata (XMP/IPTC) are never uploaded to our servers. All core culling operations, sorting, focus peaking contrast calculations, and bucket routing occur entirely on your local machine.
  • No Image Access: We do not have access to your image files, local catalogs, or sidecar metadata at any time.
  • No Biometric Storage: Facial and eye status detection features (such as checking for closed eyes or soft focus) only analyze physical contrast and pixel structural data to determine composition score. SnapCuller does not scan, collect, or store unique biometric identifiers or facial models to identify specific individuals.

AI Privacy & Cloud Provider Mappings

SnapCuller integrates a hybrid automated culling pipeline. Depending on your preferences, AI processing operates under strict privacy safeguards:

  • Local AI Inference (Ollama): If you select local models (e.g., Llama3 or Mistral running on Ollama), all analysis is performed offline on your computer's GPU/CPU. Absolutely zero data, images, or metadata leave your machine.
  • Cloud AI Inference (OpenAI / Gemini / Anthropic): If you explicitly configure and run cloud-based AI, SnapCuller transmits high-resolution previews securely over encrypted HTTPS connections directly to the respective API endpoints. Your personal API keys are encrypted and stored solely on your local device.
  • Strict AI Training Opt-Out: We explicitly invoke API endpoints with structural parameters configured to opt-out of data usage for model training. The API providers are legally bound to process your images solely for real-time inference and delete them immediately after generating your scores, preserving full copyright and ownership of the photos for you and your clients.

Licensing Data

We use Gumroad for licensing. We only see your email and license key to verify your Pro activation. This data is never sold or shared.

Anonymous Analytics

We use Google Analytics to track anonymous website visits and server-side download statistics. We do not use tracking cookies for ad targeting or collect personal identity details.

Hosting & Logs

Our website is hosted on Vercel. Vercel collects standard technical logs (IP address, browser type) for security and performance purposes.

SnapCuller checks for updates via GitHub Releases. This involves a simple version check and does not collect personal identifiers.

In accordance with regulations like GDPR or Indonesia's UU PDP, you have the right to access, rectify, or request deletion of your licensing data.
